Chiropractic Care

About Chiropractic

Whether you are at home, work or out and about, normal daily living puts strain on your body. Furthermore, overuse, injuries from sports and accidents are other culprits that can affect the spine, muscles and nervous system.

The aforementioned contributing factors can lead to a condition called Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). This is when the normal motion of the spinal joint becomes restricted resulting in irritation of the nerves and other tissues within the spinal segment. Left uncorrected, VSC can lead to abnormal biomechanics and consequently symptoms such as pain and impaired functions.

Another concerning consequence of the VSC is Immobilization Degeneration. Research indicates that a joint that has lost its normal movement will begin degenerating at a rate measurable within one week of onset, and will continue, often painlessly, until significant deterioration has occurred or a sudden significant biomechanical stress creates an acute injury.

Chiropractic is a hands-on, non-invasive, drugless health care discipline that specializes in detecting VSC and correcting spinal joint motion to restore proper movement, thereby alleviating pain and dysfunction.

At our clinic, in addition to treating acute and chronic pain, we also focus on health maintenance. Using rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle recommendations which promote health, we help patients lead an active and vibrant life!

Techniques We Use

Our Chiropractors use a number of highly-effective adjusting techniques and modalities to help improve spinal biomechanics. The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Diversified Technique

This is the foundational and most commonly used adjustment technique by chiropractors. It is characterized by a quick (high-velocity) and shallow (low-amplitude) manual thrust over restricted joints to restore proper movement and alignment of spine and joint dysfunction.

Diversified Technique

Thompson Technique

A variation of the diversified technique, this system of spinal correction make use of leg length analysis and specialized drop table to deliver the adjustment. Applying theories of physics, the use of table drop pieces assists the thrust, while minimizing the force required for the adjustment.

Impulse Instrument Adjusting

This patented and FDA registered device with built-in micro-computer circuitry was specifically created to deliver gentle and precise chiropractic adjustments to the joints. The measured and directed thrust is many times faster than is possible by hand, so less force needed.

Torque Release Technique

A system of spinal correction which combines the best of existing chiropractic techniques and principles, quantum physics and the body-mind connection. Correction is performed using a handheld torque and recoil release adjusting instrument known as the “Integrator”.

Motorized Lumbar Disc Traction

A motorized traction table is used to facilitate treatment of herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, and many other back conditions. Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy which has become a widely used non-surgical approach to treating back pain.

Cold Laser Therapy

The goal of laser therapy is to deliver light energy, called photons, to damaged cells. Photons absorbed by the cells through laser therapy stimulate the mitochondria to accelerate production of ATP energy which is used to transform live cells from a state of illness to a stable, healthy state.
