Compression Stockings

What are Gradient Compression Stockings?

Gradient compression stockings are therapeutic devices that apply a varying degree of pressure to your legs and ankles, promoting lymphatic and venous blood flow.

These devices are designed with strict medical and technical specifications, including consistency and durability, to provide a specific level of ankle pressure and graduation of compression.

These specialized stockings work by exerting the greatest degree of compression at the ankle, with the level of compression gradually decreasing up the garment.

The pressure gradient ensures that blood flows upward toward the heart instead of refluxing downward to the foot or laterally into the superficial veins.

Hosiery Options

We offer a variety of fashionable styles for women and men including knee-high or thigh-high stockings, pantyhose, trouser socks, and sports socks.

These gradient garments come in three different compression levels:

  • Mild support hosiery provides a compression range of 15-20 mmHg; this is a great choice for everyday wear to help with mild swelling and fatigued legs due to long periods of travel, sitting or standing.

  • Medium support hosiery provides a compression range of 20-30 mmHg. This level of compression is great for managing swelling in the legs, spider veins, varicose veins, travel, sporting activities and after certain surgeries. Pregnant mothers can also use these stockings to help alleviate heaviness, swelling and aching in their legs.

  • Firm support hosiery provides a compression range of 30-40 mmHg.  These devices are recommended for leg health symptoms that range from moderate to severe. This strong compression is also recommended for patients who have deep vein thrombosis or lymphedema.
